We all remember those times we were young, there was a power outage at home and we had to use lanterns and flashlights to get around the house. Taking advantage of this rare opportunity we would cast shadows on the wall using our hands to make shapes and animals. This project takes this shared experience that we all have had creates an innovated way to listen to our shadows and hear the difference between light and dark.

Luminosynth is a synthesizer that modulates its notes based on the input received from light sensors. As participants interact with the light sensors by moving their hands over them, they trigger changes in the arpeggiator, producing a mesmerizing symphony of sound and light. Leveraging Arduino Leonardo for sensor integration and Pure Data for audio processing, Luminosynth offers a captivating and interactive demonstration of the relationship between light, sound, and human perception.
